Our Soul Circle is essential to well-being.

There is something special about coming together as a collective and stepping into vibrational alignment with people around you. There is so much potential in a collective of open and thoughtful minds and hearts.

When multiple people are working towards the same goal, the chances of success are greater. When multiple people are working towards the goal of living an authentic life, magic can happen.

With the help of a support system, individuals can reach higher levels of being than they could ever achieve on their own. This is why spiritual or personal development can be so powerful when done in a group setting.

There are many ways to find and embrace our circle. When we honor the power of the collective, we can ground ourselves into our individual purpose and encourage others to do the same.

The Power of the Collective

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”- Helen Keller

We can define a collective as many individuals coming together to form a vibrationally aligned group. When a conglomeration of people come together that is aligned, it allows for individual identities to be acknowledged, retained, and celebrated. In the same breath, it allows for shared, collective outcomes. There’s power in what a group can accomplish and in what happens on a personal level for each member of the circle.

Scientific studies reveal the direct correlation to good mental health and a strong support system. Spending time in communion with others promotes well-being on both a gross and subtle, energetic level. Let’s explore this, then highlight a few ways to foster your own circle.

Vibrational Alignment

The concept of collective can have a deep spiritual and energetic meaning. Many Eastern philosophies suggest that we are all one, each of us woven together in a shared experience.

When chanting the mantra “OM”, we are chanting the universal sound. This mantra is all encompassing and unifying, the ultimate manifestation of connection and collective.

Our fourth and fifth chakras, the heart and throat respectively, relate to the aspects of connection. The heart chakra emanates the quality of love and our throat chakra the quality of communication. Being in vibrational alignment with your heart and your voice allows for the ability to give and receive love and the ability to use your voice with ease and assuredness. Both essential qualities for being in vibrationally aligned relationships.

When these chakras are in balance, it can be easier to embrace our soul collective and reap the benefits of being amongst like-minded individuals.

However, we can struggle at times in our life with finding our circle. Let’s explore ways we can find and embrace our soul circle and how it can help us on our path.

How to Embrace your Circle

Our society promotes independence and individuality. And though self-reliance is important, it’s also important to prioritize relationships.

You may have the natural tendency to embrace community or you may identify as more of a solo spirit, but mindfully surrounding yourself with the right people is truly essential.

When we take advantage of opportunities for connection and do the self-work necessary to be a contributing member of a group, we gain much. Here are some ideas for how to do this.

Make connections

Connecting with others can be challenging. True connection involves vulnerability, which can be scary and uncomfortable. Yet, when we take the chance to open ourselves up to real connection, our lives have the potential to beautifully expand. Opportunities open up for us and our inner circle fills with people that see and hear us for who we really are.

Sometimes building your soul community involves forging deeper connections with those already in your circle. Begin with purposely scheduling time in your calendar to nurture your important relationships, make room for that tea date or that walk.

There are always opportunities outside of your immediate circle to make new and lasting connections. One of the easiest spaces to do this is to look for groups, clubs, or organizations that speak to your passions. It can be a little scary joining a new circle, but one that has a shared interest is a great place to start. You never know what connections you might make and how they’ll shape your life.

Enjoy communal moments

Connection isn’t usually something that happens instantly. Rather, it’s something that can be nurtured and grown over time through the choices of individuals to come and stay together.

A beautiful way to experience connection is in those special and spontaneous moments of strangers sharing an experience. We can honor the communal moments that happen in those fleeting groups such as yoga classes, retreats, prayer circles, workshops, etc where people with similar goals share in a similar experience for a brief moment.

These types of communities are temporary yet powerful, where everyone in the space is sharing a common goal, feeling similar vibes, moving, singing, laughing together for a brief period of time.

Enjoying and taking part in the collective resonance in this way can help facilitate opening and growth on an individual level, helping us feel more connected to ourselves and those around us.

Honor boundaries

When talking about a collective, it’s also important to talk about boundaries. Boundaries show others how you want to be treated. When we set boundaries for ourselves, we are more likely to recognize and honor the boundaries of others.

Often the word boundary is associated with feelings of restrictions or limits. But actually, boundaries are healthy and can make relationships stronger and more expansive.

Boundaries are personal. Knowing your needs and having your boundaries in place can help you determine when a group is helping you blossom or holding you back.

Though it can be a good thing to surround yourself with people that sometimes challenge your viewpoints, you shouldn’t have to put up with negativity or harmful behaviors. Notice how your soul community makes you feel and seek to surround yourself with uplifting people that help you grow.

Awaken your purpose with the help of your community

"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.” - Mr. Rogers

We need others so that we can see ourselves reflected back, and we need to do the same for others, reflect back to them. We can help others see the unique gifts they have and encourage them to use those gifts in the world.

When we feel compassion for others, we are capable of feeling it for ourselves. When we see others demonstrating forgiveness, we are inspired to find forgiveness in us.

An essential piece of this earthly experience is finding those individuals that you can walk beside safely, that cheer for you and them, ultimately working towards the same goal – to show up in life from a place of authenticity.

When these healthy relationships are created, when this kind of support is cultivated and nurtured, there is absolutely nothing that can’t be created or manifested. There are no limits to what can be released, what can grow and what can heal.
